- Ruff Starters (basic obedience) $180 for 7 weeks, 50-minute classes- This class will teach you and your dog the basics of dog body language, minor problem solving for things such chewing and jumping, impulse control games ("its yer choice" games), engagement, sit, down/settle, leave-it, beginning stages of stay and loose-leash walking, and more!! Classes have a limit of 5 dogs per class to ensure each dog gets ample attention. Our training arena is tucked away in the mountains of unincorporated Escondido mountains near Lake Wohlford.
- ** No Dogs in the first class!** Bring note-taking supplies and your dog's vaccination records.
- This class is for for puppies and dogs 10 weeks and older. You must show proof of vaccinations at the first class.
- Dogs must have proof of up-to-date vaccinations based on their age.
- Dogs attending this class need to be generally well-mannered and under control. **Dogs who show aggression, excessive fear or anxiety, dogs who bark uncontrollably and who are out of control will be removed from class and placed in private lessons to keep anxiety at a minimum in classes.**
- Ruff Achievers (intermediate obedience) $160 for 6 weeks, 50-minute classes- Our intermediate class is where we build on our basic skills. We begin to add distractions and add more distance. We may bring dogs closer together and ensure that they understand that in harder environments, the results should be the same. This is helpful in giving owners the tools for maintaining engagement in harder environments. Learn from games such as the "cookie jar of fire" (not fire involve, just rewards they think are "fire"), start adding turns and directional changes to loose-leash walking, and more!
- A 25ft long leash is required for this class. No retractable leashes, just a cotton long leash (usually in the training tool sections of pet stores- by the clickers and treat pouches).
- Ruff Masters (advanced obedience) $160 for 6 weeks, 50-minute classes- To join this class, you must have completed our Ruff Achievers class. in this class, we continue with the 3 D's of dog training- Distance, Duration, and Distraction. We also begin teaching some basics of AKC Rally (an obedience obstacle course). We will push the dogs by taking them on nature walks on our private, wooded road to start setting you up for hiking or beach walks.
Online Private Lessons:
Virtual private lessons are available anywhere in the United States, as long as you have internet. Our virtual lessons are done via Zoom. You will be sent a link for the Zoom class prior to your lesson. You only need to click the link and allow Camera and Microphone access on your phone or computer. We began Virtual lessons like this during the Covid-19 pandemic and are happy to report that we have had similar results to our in-person lessons. We use Dropbox for homework assignments and video sharing so we can discuss and observe the learning process as we go.
